I definitely liked Feed more than I liked Deadline. There seemed to be a lot of exposition in this book and not enough action. I admit that I found some of it a little confusing. Going back and reading over some parts helped.
That being said, I was surprised to find that I liked Shaun as a narrator. I thought I was not going to be able to handle him as a unreliable narrator after George's cold clarity in the last book, but he grew on me like a genetically engineered super virus. Middle books can be frustrating because they have to deal with the fallout of the first book and setup for the second, but the implications of this book are interesting enough to keep me going. Great creepy series, but I hope we get some more scares in the next book.
