I wanted to throw this damn book out the window. I was almost so mad that I couldn't finish it. There have been books (World Without End, I'm looking DIRECTLY at you) where I have been so pissed at what has happened that I have to stop reading and I rarely ever pick said book up again.
But with Code Name Verity I kept reading.
Some of the twists were pretty simple (the underlining throughout the book, for example), but the main twist...
DAMN. Just damn. Just take my heart out of my chest and then stomp on it and then put it back in again and see if it works right.
Besides all my fury, the book was alternatively tense and lovely. I especially enjoyed how Maddie and Julia's friendship grew. There is something to be said about friendships that happen because the two friends are in the right place at the right time--not because they both like the same things or are in the same club. When Maddie soared, I soared.
Fantastic book. My poor bruised heart wishes it ended differently.
